But everything exposed by the light becomes visible, for everything that is illuminated becomes a light itself.
The wicked love darkness and will not suffer themselves to be made manifest, even when light shines round them. But you, being light yourselves, bring others to light through your reproofs and consistent lives; your very faithfulness becomes armor of light against the kingdom of darkness.
AI summary
Light discloses true nature. Gospel reveals what darkness conceals; evil deeds hidden in the dark become known when light shines. Whatever shows the real form and nature of a thing deserves to be called light, and the Gospel, which exposes the vileness of heathen vice, stands in strong contrast to all the false systems that upheld it.
AI summary
Walk with your eyes open, watching every step; don't shuffle along blind like a fool. The wise man makes Christ his pattern, follows God's Word as his rule, and lets the Spirit guide him, walking as becomes the Gospel, offensive to none, in love to the saints and wisdom to those without.
