Psalm 118:26BSB·author unknown

Blessed is he who comes in the name of the LORD. From the house of the LORD we bless you.

C.H. Spurgeon Reformed Baptist

Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord. The champion had done everything "in the name of the Lord": in that name he had routed all his adversaries, and had risen to the throne, and in that name he had now entered the temple to pay his vows. We know who it is that cometh in the name of the Lord beyond all others.

John Calvin Reformed

David reached the throne not by his own wit or men's favor, but appointed by God Himself. He had faced mortal dangers a hundred times over; God alone delivered him. This temporal kingdom figures the eternal spiritual kingdom of Christ, in whom David's person is fulfilled.

Matthew Henry Presbyterian

Those who would enter God's gates must come as humble suitors, longing for admission into His sanctuary. Christ is that gate, the only way the righteous enter; by Him alone our praises reach the Father, for there is no coming to God but through Him.
