Psalm 130:7WEB·author unknown

Israel, hope in Yahweh, for with Yahweh there is loving kindness. With him is abundant redemption.

C.H. Spurgeon Reformed Baptist

Hope in the Lord, Israel, He is your God. Look away from your own poverty and sin to His riches: mercy is His very nature, and redemption in abundance lies stored up with Him, ready to give His waiting ones the full benefit. Better to cry out of the depths with hope in His mercy than to stand on the mountaintops boasting in your own fancied righteousness.

Geneva Bible Notes Reformed

Let Israel hope in the LORD: for with the LORD [there is] mercy, and with him [is] plenteous redemption. (d) He shows to whom the mercy of God belongs, that is, Israel, to the Church and not the reprobate.

Keil & Delitzsch Lutheran

The sinner need not despair; his soul is steadfastly directed toward God, waiting upon His word of salvation. Like those who watch through the night for morning, I wait in painful, protracted expectancy. With the Lord alone is mercy in its fullness, mercy that removes guilt and its consequences, and puts freedom, peace, and joy into the heart.
