Jeremiah
Jeremiah 29:26WEB·traditional attribution

Yahweh has made you priest in the place of Jehoiada the priest, that there may be officers in Yahweh’s house, for every man who is mad, and makes himself a prophet, that you should put him in the stocks and in shackles.

Matthew Henry Presbyterian

This dreamer Shemaiah got wind of my letter and flew into a rage, not because he could answer it with truth, but because it exposed him. Rather than defend his false prophecies, he takes pen in hand and stirs up the priests to come after me, writing as though he were dictator to all mankind. That is the mark of a man who knows his ground is rotten.

Keil & Delitzsch Lutheran

Jer 29:25-28 "Because thou hast sent in thy name (without divine commission) letters to all the people in Jerusalem, and to Sephaniah the son of Maaseiah the priest, and to all the priests, saying." ספרים may be a single letter, cf. 2Ki 10:1-2; but since these were sent to the people, the priest Zephaniah, and all the people, the word doubtless means here letters in the plural.
