Ezekiel
Ezekiel 48:1KJV·traditional attribution

Now these are the names of the tribes. From the north end to the coast of the way of Hethlon, as one goeth to Hamath, Hazar-enan, the border of Damascus northward, to the coast of Hamath; for these are his sides east and west; a portion for Dan.

John Gill Reformed Baptist

These are not the twelve tribes of Israel as they literally divided the land in Joshua's time or after Babylon, but the Christian church built on the doctrine of the apostles. Dan gets its portion first here, though it received last from Joshua and fell into idolatry; this shows Christ receives chief sinners and provides for them.

The tribes divided the land differently under Joshua than this vision sets forth; this describes the future order, not the historical one.
