Ezekiel
Ezekiel 39:22ESV·traditional attribution

The house of Israel shall know that I am the LORD their God, from that day forward.

Matthew Henry Presbyterian

God speaks of this victory as already done, though the fulfillment lies ahead, because it is as certain as if accomplished. The routed army leaves behind such mountains of weapons that Israel will burn them for fuel seven years instead of cutting wood from the forests, turning the instruments of war into the ordinary means of warming their homes.

John Gill Reformed Baptist

This destruction of Israel's enemies will teach them who their God truly is: the One who chose them, redeemed them, kept His covenant with them, and defended them. After this, the Jews will never fall away again but will remain His people forever.
