Proverbs 3:2BSB·traditional attribution

for they will add length to your days, years and peace to your life.

Matthew Henry Presbyterian

We are here taught to live a life of communion with God; and without controversy great is this mystery of godliness, and of great consequence to us, and, as is here shown, will be of unspeakable advantage. I. We must have a continual regard to God's precepts, Pro 3:1, Pro 3:2. 1.

Commenting on Proverbs 3:1-6

John Gill Reformed Baptist

For length of days, and long life,.... Or, "years of life", or "lives" (f); a long life of usefulness and comfort here, and eternal life hereafter: the law of Moses promised a long life to the observers of it; but the Gospel of Christ brings an immortal life to light and promises to all believers in him that they shall not perish, but shall have everlasting life.

Jamieson-Fausset-Brown Reformed

length . . . life--often promised as blessings (Psa 21:4; Psa 91:16). peace--includes prosperity (Psa 125:5). add--abound to thee.
