While Peter was still preaching, God interrupted him with the Holy Ghost falling on all who heard. The Spirit came before baptism, before circumcision, because God is not bound to our methods. He proved Peter was sent by Him and showed that the Spirit, not the flesh, quickens. Abraham was justified in uncircumcision; these Gentiles received the Spirit unbaptized.
