John the Apostle
John 14:7ASV·traditional attribution

If ye had known me, ye would have known my Father also: from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

William Burkitt Anglican

The apostles conceived grossly of God, as though the Father could be seen with mortal eyes. Yet the Father, invisible in His essence, was seen in His Son, who is the express image of the Father, one in essence and operation with Him. He that hath seen me hath seen the Father.

Geneva Bible Notes Reformed

To know God and to see God is one and the same thing. When He said no man saw God at any time, He meant without Christ or through Christ no man could ever see Him. The Son is a concise and plain setting forth of the Father's nature to us.
