Luke
Acts 2:46ASV·traditional attribution

And day by day, continuing stedfastly with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread at home, they took their food with gladness and singleness of heart,

William Burkitt Anglican

At set times they joined the Jews in temple prayer, they preached no sermons there, as the rulers would not endure it. Afterward they gathered privately for the Lord's Supper and their ordinary meal with gladness and singleness of heart. Their pure and blameless conversation won them favor with the people and drew converts, yet know this: it was the Lord's work, not Peter's sermon or the apostles' power, that added to the church daily.

Three thousand baptized in one day, a fitting inauguration of the new kingdom under the Spirit's economy. The difficulty of submersion in so short a time and with so little water at hand suggests they may have already employed sprinkling or baptism in houses with large vessels.
